Inspiring the Next Generation: In2STEM at Thuret Lab, August 2025
It was a pleasure to welcome five brilliant A-Level students to the Thuret Lab as part of the In2STEM programme. The day included an introduction to adult hippocampal neurogenesis, hands-on experience with immunocytochemistry and microscopy, and a creative reflective activity. A huge thank you to Gargi, Lucia, and Marleigh for sharing their research journeys!

Zarah Wins Judge’s Choice at IoPPN PGR Showcase, March 2025
Congratulations to Zarah for winning the Judge’s Choice Best Poster Presentation Prize at the IoPPN PGR Showcase (March 2025) on her poster, “The Effect of Psilocin on Human Hippocampal Progenitor Cells During Neurogenesis In Vitro in the Context of Major Depressive Disorder”

Postdoc Curie Kim receives funding for investigating trial participant diversity
Congratulation to Dr Curie Kim who was recently awarded a small grant from the King’s Together Public Mental Health Initiative Early Career Researcher Seed Funding Scheme. She will be conducting her own independent qualitative research project gathering information from ethnic minorities on the main barriers that prevent them and their communities from participating in human trials. Opinions will also be gathered on strategies they believe would be effective in order to guide recruitment strategies for future trials and improve participant diversity.
